ABOUT ASCA

Ardmore and Springdale are unincorporated areas (communities) in Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States with Springdale having a population of 2,645 according to the United States Census Bureau. Unlike surrounding incorporated cities or towns, neither Ardmore nor Springdale maintains a Mayor’s office. Hence, to address matters of education, public safety, planning, housing and economic development, transportation, health and welfare, and other community related matters normally handled through a Mayor’s office, the Ardmore-Springdale Civic Association (ASCA) was established on November 20, 1951 as the Ardmore-Ardwick Park Citizens Association then re-incorporated on August 14, 2009. The Association serves residents that live within certain territorial limits as stated in its By-Laws to include all of Ardmore, Springdale, and parts of Mitchellville and Bowie, Maryland. Residents, who are members of ASCA, elect officers who serve as the official Board of Governors with a 2-year term limit.
